Zainab Afiqah binti Mohamad Rom or better known as Zainab hails from a small town in Puchong, living with her big family of 12. She was raised up in a humble household and realised the importance of education from her early age.

Zainab’s story is unique as her journey and passion in making changes through education was a result of a poignant moment where she witnessed how education inequality can gravely impact the future of a person and even their families.

Knowing her true calling in Education sector, she signed up to become a Teach for Malaysia fellow and taught for two years in a public high school in Klang.

Currently, she is the Senior Executive of Yayasan Tunku Abdul Rahman (YTAR), an organisation aimed at empowering youths especially high potential student from the unprivileged background through Biasiswa Tunku Abdul Rahman (BTAR) and Closing the Gap (CTG).

Zainab started her career at YTAR in 2019 and was part of the team that is responsible to revamp YTAR and its programs in a bid to reduce education inequality in Malaysia.
